The Wheatley Sharks are proud to announce their new head coach Ken Galerno ,Ken is excited to be on our staff and to challenge the kids to a winning season,he is committed to win and with his past experience he will teach the kids how to win again and become champions.We also thank Jimi St John for his past 2 yrs and good luck to him with the Essex 73s which was a surprize to all of us,his thoughts were that he needed to spend more time at home with his new son and wife but we always thought that he was part of our family so good luck Jimi and remember you were Shark bitten first.


Recently the Sharks had a charity golf tournament to raise funds to donate to locate twins with cerebal palsy. Here the Wheatley Sharks give a cheque of funds raised from the golf tournament.

Wheatley picks up first win of season, downs Dresden 4-2

The Wheatley Sharks picked up their first win of the year in Great Lakes Junior ‘C’ Hockey League action in Dresden on Friday night (Oct. 2).
Wheatley jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first period with goals from Brad Quinlan and Nathan Puchnatyj.
The Kings rallied in the second period tying the game up, after goals by Jeremy Park and Brad Oliveira.
However with just 14 seconds remaining in the second period, Wheatley re-gained the momentum and picked up a goal from David Bingeman, which proved to be the winner.
Puchnatyj picked up his second goal of the game with an empty-netter in the third period.
Sharks goalie Laine Parent made 23 saves for win, and Kings goalie Brent Paxton stopped 26 shots in defeat.
The win puts Wheatley’s record at 1-6-0, while the Kings dropped to 4-3-0, still good for second in the North Division.

The Wheatley Sharks jumped out to a 4-0 lead on Monday night (Oct. 5) at home, and never looked back, skating to an 8-4 win over the Kingsville Comets in Great Lakes Junior ‘C’ Hockey League action.
Wheatley got two goals from Jordan Carnevale and singles from Josh Carnevale, Brad Quinlan, Curtis Anderson, Shane Vienneau, Shawn Quigley, and Patrick Benson.
Conner MacKinnon made 19 saves for the win, which was the second in a row for the Wheatley club (2-6-0), who started the year with six straight defeats.
